Nine persons were arrested in a murder case on Saturday. The arrested were Kumaresan, and his brother Murugan, Selvam alias Subbu, V. Kumar alias Selvakumar, Viji alias Vijayakumar, M. Kali alias Kaliswaran, R. Ramesh, auto driver I. Kodiveeran and K. Rajesh.
The police said the nine, headed by Selvam, abducted A. Ganesan (53) from his farm at Sokkathevanpatti, murdered him and dumped the body near Vaigai dam. Acting on a complaint by Ganesan’s wife G. Jayalakshmi, Veerapandi police registered a case. But post-mortem report revealed Ganesan was strangulated to death.
After investigation, the police found the deceased had a land dispute with his brother-in-laws Murugan and Kumaresan.
