SIBU: The Sibu Methodist Children Home (SMCH) Ex-Children Association called on all the ex-children from the SMCH to come back and contribute in gratitude towards their home.

The advisor of SMCH, Hou Cheng Sing, stressed that SMCH means so much to all of the ex-children because it is ‘where their meaningful life began as children of SMCH.

“The time has come for all of us, as the ex-children of SMCH, to return together and contribute towards the needs and development of our home.

“By contributing and sharing what we have towards SMCH, it will definitely make the life of our blessed children at SMCH much better,” he added, when speaking at the ‘New Year 2015 Gathering’ held at SMCH on Saturday night.

The programme was organised by the Sibu Methodist Children Home Ex-Children Association.

The chairperson of SMCH Ex-Children Association, Lily Kong Muk Moi, SMCH chairperson Kapitan Wong Hie Ching, SMCH superintendent Yong Kie Ho and members of the Board of Management of both SMCH and the SMCH Ex-Children Association were also present.

Hou, who is the main sponsor for the programme, said by giving back to SMCH, it serves as (the ex-children’s) appreciation of what their home has done for them when they were staying under the SMCH roof as little children until growing up to become successful adults in life.

“As for me, I was placed at SMCH when I was just five years old.

“Thus, for all of us as the ex-children of SMCH, without this place which we call ‘our home’, we would not have beenable to get a proper education and grow into what we are today.

“So, let us all work closely together by coming back here and contribute something to our home so that the present blessed children will have a better life and a promising future,” he urged.
