‘Ensure systematic supply of water’

M. Vijayalakshmi, Commissioner, Tiruchirappali City Corporation, has directed the officials to ensure systematic supply of drinking water to all residents.

Inspecting the functioning of pumping station at Kambarasampettai here on Friday, she said steps should be taken to streamline the drinking water supply. Problems, if any, should be addressed immediately.

Ms. Vijalakshmi checked the chlorine content in the water being supplied to the residents of Tiruchi.

Later, she visited the dumping yard at Ariyamangalam to get first hand information about the system followed to dump solid waste collected from households, commercial establishments, and so on. She asked the authorities to maintain a transparent record to register the loads of waste dumped in the yard.
