LU’s BEd, MEd to be of two years

LUCKNOW: On the directives of National Council for Teacher's Education (NCTE), Lucknow University will increase duration of Bachelor of Education (BEd) and Master of Education (MEd) from existing one to two years. This will be applicable from academic session 2015-16.
The university held workshops of teachers on Saturday to design the curriculum. Similar workshops will be held in the coming months so that new syllabus is prepared well before the new session starts, said Prof Nidhi Bala from department of education, Lucknow University.
The curriculum will be designed taking into consideration the issues which demand immediate attention. Semester system will be followed in B.Ed while decision is yet to be taken for M.Ed, said an official.
