Erumeli spruced up for Pettathullal

: Erumeli, the main base camp of Sabarimala pilgrims, is all spruced up to witness the ‘Pettathullal’ by the Ambalappuzha and Alangad teams, marking the beginning of the end of this year’s Makaravilakku season.

The festivities will begin with the ‘Çhandanakkudom’ festival being organised by the Erumeli Mahallu Muslim Jamaat on Saturday. The Chandanakkudom process will commence in the evening after a public meeting at Petta Junction in front of the nainar Mosque and Cheriyambalam. T.R. Ramachandran Nair, judge, Kerala High Court, will inaugurate the meeting. Jamaat president P.H. Abdul Salam will preside. Travancore Devaswom Baord president M.P. Govindan Nair will flag off the Chandanakkudom procession, which will be accorded reception at the Cheriambalam and Valaimbalam.

The procession will return to the mosque late night.
