Theme song of Run Kerala Run released

Sports Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan released the theme song of the Run Kerala Run — an event held to promote the 35{+t}{+h}National Games — at a function held at his chamber on Wednesday.

The Minister handed over a copy of the CD containing the theme song to film actor Kavya Madhavan. The theme song has been composed by music director M. Jayachandran while poet and lyricist O.N.V. Kurup penned the song ‘Akalangalil ninnu akalangalilekku’. A group led by playback singer Haricharan has sung the theme song.

The Minister said that Sachin Tendulkar will take part in the run, which will commence at 10.30 a.m. from the Secretariat gate to the Central stadium on January 20. Sachin Tendulkar will be joined in the run by celebrities, Ministers, sportspersons and others.

A public meeting will be held at the Central stadium on January 20 to mark the end of the Run Kerala Run, the Minister said.

The Sports Minister also said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the Green Field Stadium — which will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the National Games — at 5 p.m. on January 26.
