Police on Thursday registered a case of rape against the principal secretary of former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Police, however, have made no arrest.
Police said principal secretary M L Tayal (53) was in a relationship with a 40-year-old woman for the last two years.
He had been living away from his wife for many years now, though the two are not divorced.
According to police, Tayal recently had a fight with the woman following which she lodged a complaint of rape against him two days ago in Lajpat Nagar police station.
Police then registered an FIR under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC against Tayal and are investigating the matter.
Tayal is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer and is also a former member of the Competition Commission of India.
