If there’s one thing you can say about car crashes in Guelph, it’s that they are spread across the city.

The most common intersection for collisions in 2014 was Woodlawn Road and Woolwich Street.

Over 12 months, that corner saw 24 of the city’s 2,759 crashes – or less than one per cent.

The next most-crash prone intersection in the city was Wellington Street and Edinburgh Road, where 20 collisions occurred.

Further down the list are Edinburgh Road and College Avenue (19 collisions reported), Victoria and York roads (18), and Gordon and Wellington streets (18).

The 2,759 crashes Guelph saw in 2014 represented a slight increase from the 2,723 reported in 2013.

Other highlights from the Guelph Police 2014 collision report, which was released on Friday:

  • 45 collisions were reported on roads under construction or repair
  • 26 Breathalyzer tests were conducted
  • By month, the worst months for collisions were January (613) and February (559), with July (299) and December (203) the lowest
  • More crashes were reported on Wednesday (801) than any other day of the week, with Sunday (387) providing the fewest
  • 62 per cent of all collisions occurred between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • 35 collisions involved pedestrians; with drivers found to be driving improperly in 28 cases
  • No collisions involving pedestrians were reported in June or July
  • 30 collisions involved alcohol or drugs in some fashion; drivers in half of those collisions were aged 27 or younger
