Carnival Group to buy Leela Infopark, T'puram for 150 cr

Carnival Group, founded by Anagamaly-born entrepreneur Shrikant Bhasi, will acquire Leela Infopark at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram for Rs 150 crore, a source said.

KOCHI: Carnival Group, founded by Anagamaly-born entrepreneur Shrikant Bhasi, will acquire Leela Infopark at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram for Rs 150 crore, a source said.
"Carnival Group signed the term sheet for the acquisition of Leela Infopark in Thiruvananthapuram on December 31, 2014 and the binding contract is yet to be signed. The total deal is of Rs 150 crore size," the source said.
It is the second IT infrastructure of Leela Group that the Mumbai-based Carnival Group is acquiring. In July 2014, the group acquired Leela Infopark in Kochi for Rs 280 crore.
Bhasi has been in limelight recently for his high-profile acquisition of the multiplex business of Anil Ambani's Reliance Group for Rs 700 crore. The other day, Carnival Group acquired the multiplex business of Network 18 for an undisclosed sum. In July 2014, the group acquired HDIL's Broadway Cinema for Rs 110 crore.
Leela Infopark was developed in 2008-09 by Mumbai-based Aushim Soft Pvt Ltd, a co-developer of Technopark and part of the Leela Group. Carnival Group will be acquiring Leela Infopark through the share buyout of Aushim Soft.
Leela Infopark has two buildings with a total office space of around 6 lakh sqft. The first building is occupied by US Technology while the second one houses offices of multinational companies which include Oracle and Allianz Cornhill.
After the acquisition, the Carnival Group will add more office space within one year, the source said.
