With the Golden Globes airing this Sunday, screen-related awards season is about to hit full tilt. For us, that means all those late-entry trophy contenders have their A-list cast members trolling the TV circuit to hawk their wares. (Eddie Redmayne, Anna Kendrick, Jessica Lange—oh, my!) Highlights this week also include, but are not limited to: Nicole Kidman and Jimmy Fallon embarrassing each other about their "date" gone wrong, Hayley Atwell (aka *Agent Carter'*s Agent Carter) being the most down-home Kansas City, Missouri girl the UK ever produced, Liam Neeson re-affirming his perfection, and Glee giving us the heebie-jeebies. You're starting off strong on the culture front, 2015. We hope you keep up the good work.

Is this happening? This is happening. Yes, Glee reimagines the hits of the day, and there’s been no bigger hit in the history of Disney than "Let It Go," but putting it in the lungs of Lea Michele enters the surreal. When Michele channeled Barbra Streisand to sing "Don't Rain On My Parade" from Funny Girl in Season 1 it was hilariously on the nose, as the young actress' life/career is essentially an homage to Babs. The song "Barbra Streisand" was even used to persuade Michele's character to stay true to herself and not get a nose job in Season 2. But giving her Idina Menzel's now-signature song is next level. Michele, who started her career on Broadway, plays Rachel Berry. Rachel Berry's mom is Shelby Corcoran, played by Menzel, one of Broadway's biggest stars, who looks suspiciously like Michele considering no one looks like either of them. Menzel surged into a new phase of her career with "Let It Go," and now Michele is singing it as the show that invented her mainstream success is ending. Menzel is coming off a divorce from her longtime husband, Taye Diggs, whom she met on the set of Rent (the production that created her star), as Michele is surely still moving past the death of her boyfriend, Cory Monteith, whom she met on the set of Glee (the production that created her star). Is everyone following along in the math so far, because we just added that all up and got a sum of WTF? Too close, guys! A little too close.
