The Sydney pitch is still a good one for batting and Rohit would be undoubtedly sore. Rohit put on 97 runs with KL Rahul, who helped himself to a maiden Test century.
Rohit's former Mumbai captain Ajit Agarkar expressed his disappointed on an ESPNCricinfo talk show yesterday. "It looked like a pre-meditated shot and was beaten by the length," said Agarkar.
India's middle-order batsman Rohit Sharma is bowled by Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon for 53 in Sydney yesterday
Rohit was dropped for the third Test at Melbourne Test after scores of 43, 6, 32 and 0 in the Adelaide and Brisbane Tests.
Agarkar added: "It was a disappointing shot and Rohit needs to cut down on these mistakes especially after getting to 50. Runs are not going to stop if Rohit stays on the pitch.
Every now and again there is criticism of him throwing it away quite loosely and this was another example. He got a 50 but I don't think he would be satisfied with that on this pitch."
