MENDHAR, Jan 8: The students from Govt Middle School Simkan, Zone Mankote in Mendhar today held protest demonstration at Shahidi Yadgar here against the Forest department for not allowing construction work of the school building at the village.
The students in uniform, assisted by the parents came to Mendhar town and started protest at Yadgar Chowk in the morning. Later, they moved to the Tehsil complex where the Tehsildar listened to their grievances. The villagers said that school was functioning at the place for the last over four decades and this building was also being constructed in the complex. The objection of Forest department was unjustified. They alleged that RO has filed wrong FIR in this connection.
Later, SHO and Range officer also sat together with the Revenue officers and Forest guard was also called who had alleged attack on him. The Administration asked both Forest and concerned Revenue officials to hold inquiry and submit report.
