No replacement for hard work: Vijay Amritraj

January 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - CHENNAI:

Indian tennis legend Vijay Amritraj said there was no replacement for hard work in life, while delivering the Dr. (Mrs.) YGP Special Endowment Lecture at PSBB Schools on Tuesday.

He said, “The harder you work, the luckier you get.” He said challenges should be seen as opportunities and pressures as privileges.

Mr. Amritraj said, “If you know where you come from, then, you know where you are going.”

Mr. Amritraj also emphasised the need to stay focussed and talked about various challenges that he had faced in his career.

He recollected how he overcame several barriers at different stages in his life.

Nearly 250 students of the school were present at the lecture. It was followed by a question and answer session. Mrs. YGP, dean and director of PSBB Group of Schools, who also spoke at the event, said Mr. Amritraj’s lecture reflected a life of fortitude that the youth must emulate.
