Special trains will be operated on the newly laid broad gauge railway track in Pollachi - Palani section from Friday. Pollachi MP C. Mahendran will flag off the first train that will leave Pollachi station at 6.15 a.m.
Railway sources said that there would be a grand function when rail service resumed in a full-fledged manner on the Dindigul - Palakkad stretch. A portion of the work that had to be completed on the Palani to Palakkad section would be completed before the end of March, 2015, sources added.
