SRINAGAR, Jan 7: With an aim to imbibe sportsman spirit and constructively engage the youth, Army’s 7 Para Unit organized Madhumati Premier League at Chhatarnar Sports ground in Bandipora.
An official said the shivering cold and icy breeze could not dampen the spirit of young players as they eagerly waited for the tournament to start.
A total of 12 teams from villages Mantrigam, Kralpora, Bunakut, Pethakut, Braripora, Khayar, Athawatoo, Chak, Dharmama, Pazalpora and Sonarwain are taking part, he said.
The tournament will be played over one week with final on January 14, which will be followed by prize distribution ceremony, he said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bandipora also graced the occasion.
