Two persons were killed and three critically injured in a road accident after a car and tractor-trailer laden with sugarcane collided head-on at Ladwa town of Kurukshetra district on Wednesday.

KURUKSHETRA: Two persons were killed and three critically injured in a road accident after a car and tractor-trailer laden with sugarcane collided head-on at Ladwa town of Kurukshetra district on Wednesday. The accident occurred due to poor visibility.
The deceased were identified as Ravi Kumar, 25, a resident of Ladwa, and Pooja Rani, 22, a resident of Karnal.

The injured have been referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh. Ravi, a local trader on way to Ladwa from Karnal, had offered lift to four persons. In Fatehabad district, a 60-year-old man died due to intense cold near the bus stand in Kulan village.
Police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem to the local general hospital. Investigation officer said, "It seems that the man died due to cold winds last night. The body has been sent for autopsy."
