The Surathkal police have sought the cancellation of bail to the persons allegedly involved in the murder of 35-year-old Keshava Shetty, a garage owner, on Tuesday morning.
The police suspected the involvement of Satish and Natesh, who are out on bail, in the murder of Keshava Shetty, and are filing an application before the jurisidictional courts to cancel their bail.
Police Commissioner S. Murugan said Satish had been arrested a few weeks ago following a complaint by Keshava Shetty accusing him of extortion, and later released.
Earlier in 2013, Satish and Natesh had been arrested for their alleged involvement in an attempt to shoot at a businessman in Ballalbagh and released on bail. There were protests in Surathkal demanding that the police arrest Natesh for allegedly selling ganja in Soorinje and other areas.
The Mangaluru South police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in the theft of expensive sanitary wares and money from the P.C. Mallappa Company showroom on Falnir Road in July, 2013.
The police gave the names of the accused as Mohammed Asif (27) and Mohammed (30), both from Bantwal and said that they were apprehended when moving an article, that was related to one from the showroom, on a two-wheeler.
The accused reportedly admitted to stealing the wares from other showrooms in the city, the police said.
