St. John’s team excels in science expo

A team of students from St. John’s English Medium High School in the city brought laurels to the school by participating and performing well in the National Children’s Science Congress-2014.

After winning the district and State-level events, the team, led by T. Divya and her friends M. Praneetha, P. Partha Koundinya and Ch. Geethak, qualified for the national-level competition held recently in Bangalore. They were competing with 1,200 other teams selected from 29 States, seven Union territories and a few other countries like UAE and Bangladesh.

A theme ‘Understanding Weather and Climate’ and a sub-theme ‘Impact of Human Activities on weather and climate’ were given to the participants.

The title of their project was “The Green World – Sustainable through the Practices”.

Divya and her team’s project is among the top 20 projects selected by the National Council for Science and Technology Communication, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.

Secretary and correspondent of the school Suman Thyagaraj complimented the team members for their achievement.
