NEW DELHI: Delhi Jal Board will be setting up 100 more reverse osmosis plants across the city from which it will be dispensing water to consumers through an ATM system. It signed a memorandum of understanding with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited for this purpose on Tuesday.
“As a part of the MoU, 100 ROs with water dispensing units will be set up in a phased manner.
10 such plants will be installed by March 2015, followed by 45 each in 2016 and 2017. The capital cost and O&M cost will be borne by TPDDL and DJB will facilitate the initiative by providing land and raw water. TPDDL will be responsible for the quality of water while DJB will monitor the water quality,” said a DJB spokesperson.
The first 10 plants will be set up in Haiderpur, Lal Bagh in Azadpur, Sanjay Basti, Timarpur, Inderlok, Kirti Nagar, Keshavpuram, Chander Shekhar Azad colony and Wazirpur Industrial Area and the remaining will be spread out in TPPDL’s north and northwest areas.
