Mumbai lad Ishpreet Chadha won a second title in the Gloster National billiards and snooker championship here on Wednesday. He added his maiden junior billiards title to the sub-junior snooker crown he won on Tuesday.

Ishpreet lost the final round-robin league match to Tamil Nadu’s S. Shrikrishna 615-495 but was declared champion following a three-way tie.

Three-way tie

Ishpreet, Shrikrishna and B. Jagadish had won twice and lost once each. However, Ishpreet emerged No. 1 on score aggregate.

“Before the final league match, I had worked out the equation.

“[If I lost] I needed to lose by a small margin. I was under no pressure,” he said after the match. “Two years back I had finished third and last year I was runner-up. This year I made sure I took the title,” he said.

Shrikrishna, who ended second, again proved his supremacy over Ishpreet after beating him in the sub-junior billiards final two days ago.

The 14-year-old Chennai boy lost his opening league match to Statemate Jagadish which proved costly in the end.

Nikhil Pise ended fourth.

The results:

Billiards: Junior: Semifinals (round robin): Ishpreet Chadha (Mah) 585 (112) bt B. Jagadish (TN) 403; S.
