A woman suffered serious head injuries after falling from a moving train near Gyanpur Road railway station in Bhadohi district on Wednesday in a bid to catch a looter who fled with her handbag.

VARANASI: A woman suffered serious head injuries after falling from a moving train near Gyanpur Road railway station in Bhadohi district on Wednesday in a bid to catch a looter who fled with her handbag.
According to reports, Piki Singh, a native of Cholapur in Varanasi, had boarded Gyan Ganga Express from Manduadih railway station on Wednesday morning to reach Pune.
She was sitting on her berth 71 of S8 coach. When the train reached near Gyanpur Road railway station a miscreants snatched her hand bag and tried to escape. Alert Pinki gave her a hot chase but in this bid she fell from moving train while the looter managed to escape after jumping out of the train.
The circle officer GRP Chiranjiv Mukherjee said that GRP personnel immediately rushed Pinki to a local hospital for first aid. The GRP Allahabad was also alerted about the incident after which luggage and belongings of Pinki were taken out by the GRP from the train at Rambagh railway station. Later, Pinki’s family members reached Gyanpur Raod station and took her back to their place after lodging a complaint with GRP.
