Skipper Dwaraka Ravi Teja completed his century to take Hyderabad to a huge total before Tripura put up a strong show in their second innings by reaching 240 for four on the third and penultimate day of their Ranji Trophy cricket match on Wednesday.
Resuming at 487 for nine, Hyderabad batted for just 1.4 overs and they declared at 491/9 after Ravi Teja completed his unbeaten century by adding four more runs to his overnight 96 as the visitors took a massive 307-run first innings lead.
In their second essay, Tripura put up a stiff fight with opener Udiyan Bose (63) and Rakesh Solanki (71 batting) hitting half centuries at the Maharaja Bir Bikram College Stadium.
Captain Rajesh Banik was giving Solanki company on 31 at the draw of stumps as Tripura would look to draw the match on the final day on Thursday.
Tripura still trail by 67 runs with six second innings wickets remaining. Jharkhand would press for early wickets on Thursday to press for a win.

Kerala staring at innings defeat
Riding on centuries by Paras Dogra (166) and skipper Bipul Sharma (118), Himachal Pradesh posted a massive first-innings total of 517 before reducing Kerala to 61 for four in their second innings on day three of their Group C Ranji Trophy cricket match in Dharamsala on Wednesday.
Kerala, who were bundled out for 196 in their first essay, are staring at an innings defeat as they trail Himachal Pradesh by 260 runs with just six second-innings wickets in hand.
Resuming on 287 for six, Himachal’s two overnight batsmen — centurion Dogra, who started on 115 and Bipul — continued to frustrate the Kerala bowling attack with a massive stand of 181 runs for the seventh wicket.
Dogra’s innings came off 301 balls, studded with 19 fours and two sixes, while Bipul used 219 deliveries for his 118, that included eight boundaries and three sixes.

Assam post five-wicket win over Services
Off-spinner Swarupam Purkayastha took a five-wicket haul as Assam posted a five-wicket win over Services on the third day of their Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match in Guwahati on Wednesday.
In reply to Services first innings total of 113, Assam on Wednesdsy resumed on 211 for eight in their first essay and went on to post 257 all out, thereby taking a healthy lead of 144 runs.
Assam bowlers once again came up with a brilliant show as they managed to bundle out Services for a mere 170 in their second innings to set themselves a small target of 27 runs.
While Purkayastha finished with impressive figures of five for 29, Arup Das (2/21) and J Syed Mohammad (2/40) struck twice each.

Stephen’s 6-wkt haul takes Andhra on verge of victory
Pacer Cheepurapalli Stephen’s six wicket haul took Andhra on the verge of an outright victory after they bundled out Jharkhand for 104 on the third and penultimate day of their Ranji Trophy cricket match on Wednesday.
Resuming the day 179 for four, Andhra scored 304 all out in their first innings with half centuries from A G Pradeep (53) and Duvvarapu Shivkumar (64) in reply to Jharkhand’s 246.
After conceding a 58-run first innings lead to the home side, Jharkhand did even worse in their second essay as they were all out for just 104 in 46 overs with just three of their batsmen making double-digit scores.
