AAP MP seek Jathedar's intervention to stop mushrooming growth of caste based Gurdwara's

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member parliament from Patiala Dharamvir Gandhi met Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh on Wednesday urging his intervention to bring an end to the increasing trend of caste based gurdwara’s and crematoriums especially in villages.

AMRITSAR: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member parliament from Patiala Dharamvir Gandhi met Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh on Wednesday urging his intervention to bring an end to the increasing trend of caste based gurdwara’s and crematoriums especially in villages.
Later talking to media persons Gandhi said it was unfortunate that despite being no place of caste system in Sikhism, a large number of caste based gurdwara’s and crematorium were coming up which was creating a division in the society and disturbing the harmony.

Gandhi has urged Jathedar to issue a hukamnama or directions to check this growing practice.
Akal Takht Jathedar, Giani Gurbachan Singh said that he would discuss the issue with other Sikh clerics in the meeting.
Later Gandhi also participated in a march taken out by a group of various Sikh organizations demanding release of Sikh detainee’s from jails who had completed their jail sentences.
