A lady teacher was allegedly gang-raped by the manager of her school and five others in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district, about 500 kilometers from here.

According to the police sources, the manager called the victim at the school on some pretext and forcibly took her to the nearby forests where he and his five other friends allegedly gang-raped her.

The culprits also allegedly made a video clipping of the incident and threatened to make it public if she dared to lodge a complaint, sources said. Fearing humiliation, the victim kept silent.

The manager, identified as Manoj Kumar, again called the victim to the school few days back and allegedly raped her again.

The victim, however, gathered courage and told her parents about the incident. The parents then approached senior district police and a case was lodged in this regard on Monday.
Manoj was later arrested and the video clip had also been recovered, the police said, adding that the other five accused had also been identified on the basis of the video footage.

A manhunt has been launched to nab the other five accused, who have been absconding. The victim has been sent for medical examination, the police added.
Incidents of crimes against women have registered a sharp increase in the state in the past few months.

Despite UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's assurance that the government would do everything to ensure safety of the women, such incidents continue unabated. The opposition parties have been attacking the state government over its alleged failure on this count.
