Will not leave PPP, says Amin Fahim

Qaim directs Makhdoom Jamil to oversee Thar relief activities

KARACHI - Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians President Amin Fahim on Sunday met former President and PPP Co-Chairman, Asif Ali Zardari and conveyed his reservations over appointments within the party and Sindh government’s performance.
The meeting was also attended by Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, Raza Rabbani and Sherry Rehman.  
The meeting was called by Asif Ali Zaradri to address differences between him and Fahim. Fahim had opposed the appointment of Sherry Rehman as PPP Vice President and said that the decision was made without his consultations.  
Although details of the meeting were not shared with media, however sources say that the estranged PPP leader Amin Fahim conveyed his reservations to Asif Zardari and was assured by the PPP Co chairman that they would be addressed soon.
Talking to media after the meeting, Fahim said that he had conveyed his reservations over performance of the Sindh government, however, he would not support any move to bring no-confidence motion in the provincial assembly against the CM.
The PPPP President also set aside speculation of him attempting to create a forward block within the party and said that his relationship with PPP was not such that he could break.  
Fahim said that the party should respect its senior leaders as they have done for their extensive services. “The estranged PPP leaders should be contacted and the party must remove their reservations,” he said.
Speaking about formation of military courts, the PPP leader said that he and his party share same point of view over establishment of military courts to eliminate terrorism.
Moreover, after Fahim’s meeting with Asif Ali Zardari, his son and Sindh Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation Makhdoom Jameeluz Zaman called on Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah on Monday and discussed issues pertaining to his constituency. The meeting was also attended by Jamil’s brother Makhdoom Mehboobuz Zaman.
The chief minister Sindh directed Makhdoom Jamiluz Zaman to oversee the relief activities in Tharparkar and provide every facility to the affectees for their early rehabilitation.
