BHOPAL: A day after a town inspector shot his senior officer in Tikamgarh and later killed himself, two policemen thrashed one of their colleagues in Katni district on Tuesday.
The incident took place around 10 am. Traffic constable Devanand Sharma was allegedly thrashed by two constables Anil Vishwakarma and Shyamnaryan Singh, who are posted at AJK police station.
"They live at a nearby place and fought with each other over some petty dispute. Sharma has not sustained serious injuries," City Superintendent of police B P Singh told TOI.
"He went to the hospital but was soon released after some treatment. Meanwhile, based on the complaints, a case has been registered against Vishwakarma and Shyamnarayan. At the same time Sharma has also been booked on the complaint of both constables," Singh said.
All three have been removed from active duty for the time being while investigations are underway, he said.
Earlier on January 5, a town inspector at Pritvipur police station in Tikamgarh Pramod Chaturvedi shot his senior SDOP K S Mullick and then committed suicide in the officer's office.
