‘Yanam utsav’, fruit and flower exhibition begin

Stating that the overall development of the four enclaves was the motto of the Puducherry government, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Tuesday said that the government was focusing on education and health sectors to achieve overall growth in the years to come. Mr. Rangasamy, along with Lieutenant Governor A.K. Singh, inaugurated the 13th ‘Yanam Utsav’ and 16th Fruit and Flower Exhibition, besides inaugurating the Yanam’s Obelisk Tower that was built at a cost of Rs. 30 crore. He also laid the stone for various tourism development projects estimated to cost about Rs. 12 crore. Mr. Rangasamy said that equal importance would be accorded to Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam“The local MLA, Malladi Krishna Rao, is keen on developing Yanam and he knows how to get funds from the government for the development activities,” Mr. Rangasamy said.
