Man killed over fight during carrom game

Four men were arrested on Tuesday for the murder of a 24-year-old man in Ennore over minor fight during a game of carrom. Brothers V Ratnam, V Arun and V Muniyandi and their friend M Prabhakar, picked up for the killing of R Vimal, were later remanded in judicial custody.

CHENNAI: Four men were arrested on Tuesday for the murder of a 24-year-old man in Ennore over minor fight during a game of carrom. Brothers V Ratnam, V Arun and V Muniyandi and their friend M Prabhakar, picked up for the killing of R Vimal, were later remanded in judicial custody.
Police said trouble started on Monday night when Ratnam hit Bala, 19, during a game of carrom.
Bala immediately informed Vimal, his friend. Vimal rushed to the spot where Ratnam’s brothers and friends had gathered. Vimal isleft after warning them of dire consequences, police said.
Ratnam and his brothers, along with Prabhakar, plotted to kill Vimal. Around 10.30pm, they waited near Vimal’s house. When he came out for a walk, they slit his throat and escaped. Vimal’s body was found in a drain behind his house the next morning. Police arrived and began inquiries before picking up the four accused.
