The founder of Infosys, NR Narayana Murthy recently visited the REVA University, Kattigenhalli, Yelahanka, where he inaugurated the Research Labs, released a book on corporate governance authored by Himachalam Dasaraju, a professor from the university and interacted with the post-graduate students, Ph.D Scholars and other staff members.

There were many dignitaries present on the day. The programme was presided by chancellor P Shayama Raju and pro vice-chancellor RP Reddy. Narayana Murthy appreciated the chancellor’s quest in improving the dimension of the academic excellence. He stressed upon improving the status of higher education in India and demystified the concept of cloud computing. He also spoke about the inability of educational institutions’ to scale up the enrolment of students.

He felt that unless institutes like IIT and IISc provide research-oriented thoughts about technology, India cannot compete with the world. He spoke about the youth in India and requested everyone to put the nation first. He suggested that discipline, hard work, commitment and leadership would definitely make one a better person and lead to a better tomorrow. He also spoke about being loyal to an institution and oneself.

Two books, titled ‘Corporate Governance Mechanism in the Dynamic Global Market’ and ‘Corporate Governance in Emerging Economies’, authored by Himachalam Dasaraju, the head of the school of commerce and management were released on this occasion. 

The chancellor then delivered his speech and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
