CHANDIGARH: Four youths were allegedly burnt to death in a car near a village of Jhajjar district after being shot before being offered liquor while celebrating the New Year with their rivals in a Delhi village on December 31 midnight. Bodies of four youths, from Najafgarh area of Delhi, were found in a car near Issarheri village of Jhajjar district on January 1.
Solving the murder mystery on Monday, the police have termed the grisly crime to be the fallout of a gang war in Mitraon. Haryana police have arrested six persons in connection with the case in the past two days.
The arrested accused Rahul, Deepak, Aakash alias Aaka, Mukesh alias Mukhi, Rohit allias Billu and Billu's mother Krishana Devi belong to Mitroan and Dariyapur village of Najafgarh. A local court has sent the arrested woman to judicial custody while the other accused are in police custody. The cops are yet to arrest nine other co-accused in the matter.
According to the police, three youths Manish alias Sonu, Sudhir and Sandeep from Mitraon village and Sandeep from Samaspur village of Delhi were returning to their homes after celebrating New Year. "In Mitraon village, the accused were celebrating New Year when they stopped car of the youths. They asked them to join the party after wishing them New Year greetings. The accused shot them after offering them liquor," said Kaptan Singh, deputy superintendent of police, Bahadurgarh on Monday.
Sources said main accused Ravinder alias Bholu was a property dealer in Mitroan and the crime took place in his office in the village. Before shooting the victims, the members of Bholu's gang even asked them to forget all past incidents among the two warring groups.
"After killing them, the accused put the deceased into the same Toyota Etios car in which they were returning after celebrating the New Year. They set the car on fire after putting petrol on it in Jhajjar district," added the DSP.
According to DSP Singh, earlier a gang member of the deceased youths' group tried to kill an associate of the Bholu gang, Virender, by firing at him but he escaped. Naveen Pehlwal, brother of deceased Sonu, is already lodged in a jail in connection with a double murder case.
