BHOPAL: Academic session in Sanchi Buddhist and Indic Studies University at village Barla in Raisen district began with eight courses from Monday.
Vice-chancellor Shashi Prabha Kumar said 13 students from across the country have taken admission in a course on Buddhist philosophy in first phase.
"In next phase scheduled to start from January 12, course on Indian philosophy will be inaugurated," Shashi Prabha Kumar said.
Forest minister Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar inaugurated the academic session. He said the university has been established with an objective of disseminating knowledge, philosophy, culture, studies and research, which will benefit the society, country and the world.
Chancellor S Rimpoche said researches and studies would be done logically at the university, which would enrich Buddhist-Indian culture.
