CHANDIGARH: A meeting of the core committee of
Punjab Unaided Technical Institutions Association (
PUTIA) was held recently under its president J S Dhaliwal. The meeting was attended by young educational entrepreneurs of Punjab.
During the meeting, PUTIA decided to launch anti drug campaign among more than 2.5lakh students studying in various private colleges and universities of Punjab. Awareness campaigns and various activities will be held to educate youngsters – who are susceptible to drug addition – against drug abuse.
During the meeting, PUTIA also nominated young entrepreneur and chairman of Aryans Group of Colleges Anshu Kataria as the vice president. Kataria is working as the convener of PUTIA and he had played active role in the previous years.
The meeting was attended by all the young entrepreneurs working in the field of higher technical and professional education. Before this, Dhaliwal asked young entrepreneurs to come forward and strengthen the association which is working in the field of education over the last two decades.
Dhaliwal also appointed S Gurfateh Singh (Adesh Group) as secretary; Sawinder Singh Gill as convener Majha Region; Gurminder Singh as convener- Malwa I; Anup Bansal as convener Malwa II; Renu Arora as finance secretary; Gurpreet Singh as convener for Tricity Region and Gurkirat Singh as convener of Ludhiana zone.
PUTIA comprises 440 institutions of Punjab that offer engineering (degree, diploma), architecture, management, hotel management, pharmacy and other non-AICTE courses. It also has chancellors of universities like Punjab including Lovely Professional University, Chitkara University, GKU, Chandigarh University, Rayat & Bahra University, DAV University, (DBU) as advisors of advisory core committee.
