Amarchand Mangaldas, Vaish on $852m UltraTech buy of JP cement plants

Amarchand Mangaldas advised UltraTech cement on its Rs 5400 crore acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates’ cement plants. JP was advised by Vaish Associates.

Amarchand Mumbai managing partner Cyril Shroff, corporate partner Tushar Mavani and competition partner Nisha Kaur Uberoi acted for UltraTech.

Vaish Mumbai managing partner Bomi Daruwala acted for JP.

The two law firms had acted for the same clients on UltraTech’s Rs 3800 crore acquisition of JP’s Gujarat unit in 2013.
