Jhajjar deaths: Mother of prime accused held

Victims had left their homes on New Year’s eve and were allegedly killed because of rivalry.

Three days after the charred bodies of four persons from Delhi were found in a car in Bahadurgarh, Haryana Police on Sunday said they have arrested three persons.

Those arrested are Rahul, Deepak and Krishna, mother of prime accused Ravinder Golu and his brother Dharmender who are on the run.

The dead belonged to two villages in Najafgarh. The bodies of Maneesh, Sudhir and Mandeep of Mitraon village and that of a minor from Samaspur village were found in a burnt car on the outskirts of Issarhedi village in Bahadurgarh on Thursday.

Police said Krishna was arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy. “The four were shot dead allegedly by Ravinder, Dharmender and their accomplices at Ravinder’s office in Najafgarh. The brothers then allegedly burnt the bodies in a car in Issarhedi. Krishna allegedly cleaned the blood-stained floor of Ravinder’s office in an attempt to destroy evidence,” a police officer said.

The victims had left their homes on New Year’s eve. They were allegedly killed because of an ongoing rivalry between two gangs, one led by Ravinder and another by Maneesh’s brother Naveen.

Festive offer

“Rahul and Deepak were arrested from Mitraon village on Saturday evening. They have confessed to the crime,” DSP (Bahadurgarh) Kaptan Singh said. “The four were shot in a makeshift office in Ravinder’s house in Mitraon village. It was pre-planned,” he said.

“Two bodies were in the boot of the car and two more on the back seat. Though the car was charred, we managed to decipher its registration number. We got in touch with Delhi Transport Authority officials and found that the car was registered in the name of Maneesh,” Jhajjar SP Rajesh Duggal had said on Thursday.

Maneesh’s brother Naveen is facing over a dozen criminal cases, and is lodged in Tihar Jail since 2010.

Maneesh’s family believes the four were abducted, murdered and their bodies burnt by Ravinder and Dharmender.
