BHOPAL: Security would be beefed up at five more stations in the state. After Bhopal, Itarsi and Bina, integrated security system (ISS) will now be installed at Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna and Sagar stations.
Under the ISS, there would be IP based CCTV surveillance system, access control, personal and baggage screening system and bomb detection and disposal system.
The area to be covered would include all points from where passengers enter and exit, ticketing area, circulating area, concourse, all platforms, parcel area, passenger reservation system (PRS, yard pit shed, washing line and vehicle entry points.
There would also be personal and baggage screening mechanism and bomb detection and disposal system. Besides, CCTV system will have video analytics and 30 days’ recording facility. Scanner will be integrated into the control room meant for surveillance of the CCTV system manned by the RPF staff.
ISS is being undertaken by various zonal railways and the five stations selected would be among the 288 stations all over the country. Currently the system is functional at Bhopal and Itarsi stations while work is underway at Bina station. According to sources, west central railway (WCR) has sent the proposal of upgrading these five stations to railway ministry.
