Akashvani Kalaburagi tops AIR quiz

MANGALURU: Akashvani Kalaburagi bagged the first place in the state-level quiz competition conducted by All India Radio, Mangaluru, in connection with the National Youth Day here on Friday. In all, 13 teams took part in the competition.
Mallikarjun C Thirumale and Santhosh Kumar B Nippani represented the winning team. Ivas Ahmad N A and Varun Shreyas, studying in Expert College and representing Mangaluru, and Annappa Swamy M and Venkatesh S of Chitradurga shared the second spot.
Vasanthkumar Perla, assistant director, AIR, Mangaluru, said that AIR is the only media which reaches out to 98% of the Indian population. All India Radio teams from Bengaluru, Dharwad, Bhadravati, Mysuru, Hassan, Madikeri, Hospet, Karwar, Raichur and Vijayapura also participated in the event.
