Doctor calls colleague, hangs herself
BENGALURU: Deepthi Reddy, 28, a doctor and resident of Dodda Banaswadi, allegedly hanged herself early Saturday morning.
A complaint filed by one of her relatives said her father Anjanappa Reddy, from Prakasham district in Andhra Pradesh, and other family members had decided to get her married. Deepthi was depressed over the family decision. "She was living in her grandfather's house in Dodda Banaswadi.
She called up one of her colleagues, Raghu, around 4am Saturday, and told him she was depressed and wanted to end her life. Raghu reportedly tried to convince her and promised to meet her immediately. But by the time Raghu reached her house by 5.30am, she had hanged herself," police said.
Police suspect Deepthi might have been in love with another man, and resented her family's decision to get her married to a person of their choice, which led to the suicide.
