A 34-year-old man working for Convergys India was found dead in the basement of the company building in Gurgaon’s Sohna Road on Thursday, police said. The dead has been identified as Gaurav Arora, a resident of Shahdara in Delhi.
“Arora fell from the second floor of the building to basement level 2 in the early hours of Thursday and died within hours of being rushed to the hospital. He was last seen with a woman colleague,” an officer said.
The deceased’s father, Ashok Arora, has filed an FIR naming the woman colleague. Police said she has been questioned.
Ashok said he received a call at 3:30 am on Thursday and was told that his son was hurt.
He has alleged foul play after reportedly “seeing CCTV footage” of the incident in the early hours of Thursday. Police have asked the company to show them the CCTV footage.
Police said the Arora family earlier gave a written statement that they did not have any suspicion about the fall. “But the next day the father accused a colleague of having a role in his son’s death. We will take statements of other colleagues on Monday which will clarify the issue,” the officer added.
