Khandelwal murder: Lawyers beat up fourth accused

INDORE: Lawyers of Indore district court thrashed fourth accused of kidnap and murder case of advocate Devendra Khandelwal, on court premises on Wednesday. On Tuesday, when three accused were being produced in the court, they were beaten up by agitating lawyers. All four accused have been sent to police remand till January 2.
Protesting kidnap and murder of their colleague, lawyers have been demanding enactment of act to protect lawyers.Alleging irregularities in police investigation, lawyers went on a day-long strike on Tuesday.
Khargone district SP Amit Kumar Singh told TOI over phone that the burnt body was exhumed in presence of dead advocate’s son Ram Khandelwal and other relatives by police on Wednesday in Karahi area. The body was buried on December 27 after police efforts to establish the identity turned futile. Forensic samples will be sent for DNA testing before the body is cremated by family in Indore.
