Revisiting recent Bengals playoff numbers

CINCINNATI -- With the Cincinnati Bengals' wild-card round playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts just days away, now is a good time to look back on their not-so-distant dismal postseason past.

Marvin Lewis might not want to discuss the Bengals' postseason inadequacies, but facts are facts. Lately, they've just been downright bad in January.

As has been well-documented, the Bengals haven't been good in the playoffs the last thee years. Heck, they haven't been good past Week 17 in the last 24 years, losing each of their five playoff games since the January 1991 divisional-round loss at Oakland.

But we're going to focus only on the last three postseasons. After all, this team is made up mostly of players who were on each of those teams. Several players weren't even born the last time the Bengals won a playoff game.

It's numbers like these below that have kept the Bengals from a postseason win, and that also ought to have them motivated Sunday to bury the past -- even if they don't want to talk about it.
