The city police claimed foiling a murder plan with the arrest of two persons, including a history sheeter Mohd Javeed Khan alias Jadoo of Falaknuma. Three daggers and two cell phones were recovered from them.

Presenting the accused at a press conference here on Tuesday, N Koti Reddy, Additional DCP Task Force, said that Javeed, who was involved in more than 30 cases, along with his associate Shaik Jameel (24), a history sheeter of Azadnagar police station in Malegaon, Maharashtra, planned to kill one Akbar of Vattepally in Falaknuma.

At loggerheads

Javeed suspected Akbar’s role in the murder of his associate shooter Farooq and they were also at loggerheads over a plot. “To settle the land issue and avenge the killing of his associate Javeed along with Jameel hatched a plan to eliminate Akbar,” Mr. Reddy said.

To execute the plan Javeed also tried to acquire a firearm and paid Rs. 23,000 to a person, Irfan of Malegaon. However, as the latter could not provide it, Javeed and Jameel planned to attack him with daggers. They were waiting for Akbar at Vattepally when they were nabbed by the police.

Three arrested

In a separate case, the Commissioner’s Task Force (south) team arrested three persons on charge of changing International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number of mobile phones using computer software and electronic gadgets. Six cell phones, ten software tool boxes and two desktop computers were seized from them.

The arrested persons, Mohd Amer (19), Mohd Ali Pasha (25) and Tariq Jameel Khan (28), used to change the IMEI numbers for Rs. 500 to Rs. 700. They were handed over to the Bhavaninagar police station for investigation.
