The Social Forestry Department on Monday planted about 50 trees on either side of the old NH 7 from NTR chowk towards the bus stand. About 1,000 trees will be planted in all on the 2 km stretch between NTR chowk and Tirpalli in the coming days under the government’s Haritha Haram programme.
The trees were planted by Adilabad Social Forestry DFO N. Janakiram and in-charge Social Forestry Forest Range Officer K. Nagesh. According to officials, Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna is keen on improving greenery in the town.
