In a nation rooted in religious and caste discrimination, an 18-year-old from Alappuzha, Kerala, has grabbed the attention of many social media users.

Jishnu M Kumar, who was a student of Mahakavi Kumaran Asan Memorial High School in Pallana, posted a photo of his SSLC mark list on Facebook on Sunday, which has gone viral for just one reason.

Interestingly, the column for religion on his mark list says 'No Religion.'

"Religion/caste: NON-RELIGION, NIL"

Jishnu also posted on Facebook, "My parents taught me to live without the support of any religion or caste. I lived for long 18 years without any religion in a land filled with religious fanatics. It is the right thing my parents did for me."

Meanwhile, many have appreciated Jishnu for his stand on religion and caste. At present, he is a BSc Mathematics student at St Aloysius College Edathua in Alappuzha.
