Protest after truck hits Jain monk

RAJKOT: Enraged over a Jain monk Labdhisagar Maharaj being hit by an unidentified truck on Sunday morning near Palitana, his followers came out on road in the afternoon and blocked Songadh-Palitana road demanding immediate arrest of the accused truck driver.
Sources said that Labdisagar Maharaj was going towards Palitiana on foot when an unidentified truck hit him and sped away from the spot. He received minor injuries but his followers alleged foul play and gathered in Palitana demanding that the police arrest the accused at the earliest.
Police rushed to the spot and assured them that a FIR would be registered against the unidentified driver.
