Protest against TCS job cuts
CHENNAI: Young Tamil Nadu Movement (YTM), a group that came into existence in 2008 to address social causes, is bringing together employees of TCS who have alleged they have been laid off by the IT behemoth in the last two weeks.
The group held a meeting on Saturday in the presence of a legal consultant and have decided to take legal recourse against the lay-offs.
"TCS seems to be asking senior employees with over 10 years of experience to leave the organization on a 1-month notice citing poor performance," said R S Samantha, member of YTM.

A TCS spokesperson said, "Workforce optimization is a continuous process throughout the year. This leads to some involuntary attrition in the company. This is nothing out of the ordinary or a special situation for us to comment about."
