Priyanka awarded 'Queen of Bollywood' title

Priyanka Chopra’s been awarded the title of the 'Queen of Bollywood' by an online poll and the actress is ecstatic.

Priyanka said,"I feel very happy when people go out and vote for me. I feel that this is all my hard work and determination. I always wanted to do something new and take a risk in my career."

She further added, "When I signed a film like 'Mary Kom', I knew that my face did not match hers I still went ahead and did it."

After seeing Priyanka play glamorous roles in 'Fashion', industry was sceptical about her doing more taking up more challenging roles'. "People also told me doing roles like 'Barfi' would put my glamourous image in jeopardy and I would not be able to do these kind of characters."

Bollywood has not been a cak walk for her, Priyanka has been trhough the highs and lows and often criticized for the genre of filme she chos.She further states, "When I did a film called 'Aitraaz' with Akshay and Kareena, people took me as a heroine and did not brand me as a vamp. When I did a film like 'Fashion' people said that actress should play central character at the beginning of my career."

"When I started music, people said why is a heroine getting into singing and now when I am going to produce a film there are other opinions."

No matter what, all that kept her going was her sheer determiniaion and desire to do something more challenging each time."I have followed my gut and succeeded and that is the reason why I think I was accorded that title by my fans," she rattles off at one go. Apparently, Priyanka knows most of her fans too as well as they know her.

"I think a lot of my fan following is very loyal to me and they believe in me. I call myself PC Rockstar, so let me do what so ever stuff I want to. Often people point out my mistakes but then my followers fight back for me. I have a close relationship with all of them, I know them by their names and whenever I go to their city I try to meet them as we write letters to each other," she says.

The Eastern Eye magazine in the UK named her among 2014 Most of Asia's Sexiest Women. Ask her what it is to be sexy and she says, "Sexy does not imply pointed sexual feelings. If you can appeal and attract people to your side, you can be sexy. Your confidence can be sexy. I think my confidence makes me sexy.

"Most people think that my lips are sexy. Although many people say that it is the result of plastic surgery. I laugh at the things, but I think my waist is the sexiest, though I do not show it much," she smiles

So, when is she working with the Khans again, now that she seems to have embarked on a lot of women oriented films? "These are questions that you should ask the Khans. You should ask them when would they like to work with Priyanka Chopra?  It does not depend on me," she signs off.
