A locomotive derailed crashing into one of the platforms at Kota train station in West Jakarta on Friday morning.
No casualties were reported in the accident as the station was not crowded.
The spokesperson from state-owned railway operator PT KAI's Operation Region I Jakarta, Agus Komarudin, said that the locomotive hit the platform after delivering carriages that had just been washed at Gambir station in Jakarta.
'The reason for the accident is still being examined,' he said, as quoted by kompas.com.
According to the kompas.com report, the locomotive hit the platform 5 meters from the rail track.
Agus said the machinist and two crew on the locomotive were not injured and the train schedule had not been disrupted.
