Indian equities are trading slightly lower amid volatility on Friday. At 11.19 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 14.56 points or 0.05% at 27,194.05. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 3.85 points or 0.05% at 8,177.95.
The BSE Capital Goods index climbed by 0.53% followed by Bankex (0.42%). On the other hand, FMCG dropped by 0.61%. SBI, L&T, Axis Bank and Sun Pharma are major gainers in the Sensex pack. On the other hand, HUL, GAIL, Tata Motors and Wipro are top losers in the benchmark index.
The BSE Midcap index was at 10,031.59,up by 42.93 points or by 0.43%. The BSE Smallcap index was at 10,891.32, up by 26.13 points or by 0.24%. Overall market breadth was negative with 1,200 advances against 1,042 declines.
