Peyton Manning wants to play on in NFL

HOUSTON: Peyton Manning, considered one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, said he had no plans to retire and expected to back with the Denver Broncos next season.

The 38-year-old Manning told US media outlets he was interested in playing for the Broncos, who are 11-4 this season, in the 2015 campaign regardless of what happened this year.

"I certainly plan on being back if the Broncos will have me," Manning told the Denver Post.

John Elway, executive vice president for operations of the Broncos, has said on different occasions that Manning planned to continue playing and management wanted him to have a role in the organisation.

"At this point, I'm thinking about Oakland," Manning said. "I know this is the time when there are conversations about what coaches are going to return. For some reason I guess I get to fall into that category because maybe I'm closer to the same age as some of the coaches. But I have no plans along those lines. I'm enjoying playing and looking forward to Sunday's game and the game to follow that."

A win on Sunday against the Raiders would give Manning, who is in his 17th season and has undergone four operations on his neck, his 10th season with at least 12 wins as a quarterback.
