Rs.100 crore Pavagadh Mahakali Temple revamp plan cleared

After the total makeover of the temple town Ambaji and somnath, now the state government has decided to focus on the other temple town of Pavagadh near Vadodara for the total makeover.

A Rs.100 crore plan of the total makeover of the Archeological Survey of India(ASI) protected Mahakali temple on the Pavagadh hill has been approved. Adjoining religious sites will be developed in phased manner.

A new design for the development of the temple has been approved by the ASI and the state government also and work contracts are likely to be awarded shortly.

Under the new project broadening of the pathway leading to Mahakali shrine from Maachi will be made. The temple area will broaden by the construction of the new platform so more devotees can come at a time. At present the whole path has broken staircase that will be totally reconstructed considering the need of the elderly devotees.

The Teliya Talav at Maachi will have landscaping, food stalls and parking facilities, the Dudhiya Talav, in which many take a holy dip, will be developed. Local vendors and devotees pollute these lakes that will be banned shortly. Boating facilities will be started at the Chhasiya Talav.
